As the nation’s largest “no kill” refuge, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is a haven for dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, horses, and other animals that have suffered abuse or abondonment. The animals either live out their natural lives on the 33,000 acre Angel Canyon ranch near Kanab, Utah or are adopted into a healthy home.
With an average population of 1,500 critters, volunteers are welcome and appreciated! There’s help needed with feeding, cleaning their living areas, socializing with them, and taking them for walks. You can stay in a guest cottage on the ranch, or make arrangements in nearby Kanab.
You’re encouraged to check out the link below well in advance, especially if you’re coordinating your volunteering with a trip to one of the region’s spectacular parks – Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon are each within 100 miles!
